FAU RRZE and Partners Launch Quantum Domain Dynamics Project for Cross-Domain Quantum Encryption

The Network research group at FAU’s Regional Computing Centre Erlangen is participating in the Infosim-coordinated QDD – Quantum Domain Dynamics project. The consortium has secured €3.26 million in BMFTR funding for a total volume of €3.84 million to develop automated hybrid quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography management across network domains through 2029. Intent-based networking exploring large language models forms a core technical component for orchestration.

Telefónica and Würth Deploy Quantum Computing for Logistics Packaging Optimization, Reducing Transport Volume

Telefónica and Würth España have completed a pilot that applies quantum computing and artificial intelligence to optimize product packing at a major Spanish logistics center. Working with TECNALIA and QCentroid at Telefónica’s Bilbao quantum technologies center, the team processed more than 6,000 orders. Packaging efficiency improved, shipping boxes reduced, truck transport volume declined, and cardboard use fell. The results illustrate practical hybrid quantum-classical value for high-volume industrial logistics today.

Quantum Computing Weekly Round-Up: Week Ending March 7, 2026

The quantum computing weekly round-up this week is loaded with public-market moves, post-quantum security deployments, and a fresh wave of research that actually feels connected to real-world use. From PASQAL and Xanadu chasing the public markets to telecom giants pushing quantum-safe infrastructure, the industry looked more commercial and more geopolitical at once. Add in new work on molecular simulation, drug discovery, quantum debugging, and dark-matter sensors, and this was one of those weeks where skipping the links would be a tactical error.
