Quantum Computing Wrap-Up for October 14, 2026. IonQ priced a $2.0 billion equity offering. Qilimanjaro closed nearly €20 million Series A with Indra and SETT. Quantum Computing Inc. landed its first pharma customer with INmune Bio. SEALSQ detailed an ML-KEM attack and new chips. Anderon released a superconducting quantum PDK. Miss a link and you brief last week’s stack.
Capital That Lands and Structures That Clean
IonQ priced a $2.0 billion equity offering of 20.5 million shares at $40 plus warrants, according to the IonQ equity pricing. CEO Niccolo de Masi called it a vote of confidence that accelerates full-stack commercialization as the best-capitalized pure-play.
Qilimanjaro announced a nearly €20 million Series A first close led by Indra Group (€10 million) with €9.6 million from Spain’s SETT, per the Qilimanjaro Series A note and the SETT investment page. The capital scales fluxonium chip manufacturing and European technological autonomy.
QTREX Quantum cleaned its capital structure after all remaining investor warrants from the July 2026 Form F-1 were exercised, leaving no ATM or convertible debt, according to the QTREX capital correction. Roughly 70 million ordinary shares now cover nearly the entire fully diluted capitalization.
Hardware Scaling and Cryo Components
QuantumCore began development of chip-scale magnetless cryogenic circulators under a University of Waterloo agreement, as detailed in the QuantumCore circulators post. The RF-switching design aims to shrink readout isolation so superconducting systems can scale without bulky ferrite magnets.
Anderon released its first Superconducting Quantum PDK for 300mm wafers covering qubits, I/O, amplifiers, and filters, according to the Anderon PDK blog. Early access under license lets teams move from device concepts to manufacturable layouts.
QFX secured a £6.8 million Innovate UK contract for Phase II of SrROCK to build compact strontium optical-clock packages for data-center and space timing, per the QFX contract announcement. Fraunhofer IAF loaned its room-temperature diamond NV-center quantum processor chip to the Deutsches Museum Nürnberg until 2029, according to the Fraunhofer museum exhibit.
PQC Chips, Attacks, and Secure Nets
SEALSQ presented peer-reviewed research on a cross-information lattice attack on ML-KEM key generation plus countermeasures at LightSec 2026, from the SEALSQ LightSec release. The hybrid side-channel result feeds the company’s QS7001 secure-element roadmap.
SEALSQ will demo the VaultIC409 secure element, QVault TPM, and a QASIC design concept at electronica 2026, according to the SEALSQ electronica note. VaultIC409 samples are targeted for Q2 2027 on an EAL5+ path. ZeroTier announced RC3 of ZeroTier Quantum with ML-KEM-1024 hybrid exchange and ML-DSA-87 signatures for SaaS, sovereign, and air-gapped environments, per the ZeroTier Quantum RC3.
Wait for it … IBM’s Alessandro Curioni warned that fewer than 10 percent of organizations are quantum-safe, as reported by Phys.org IBM hacks. Harvested data could be decrypted later even if today’s machines lack the power.
Drug Discovery Meets Quantum Optimization
INmune Bio and Quantum Computing Inc. partnered to apply QCi’s Dirac-3S quantum optimization machine plus AI to clinical datasets on XPro for Alzheimer’s, marking QCi’s first pharma customer, according to the INmune Bio partnership release.
Zapata Quantum partnered with QuEra to combine QuEra’s fault-tolerant neutral-atom roadmap with Zapata’s application intelligence inside the QuEra Quantum Alliance, per the Zapata QuEra partnership.
European Networks, Hubs, and Quantum Internet
AQT and Innsbruck are building a quantum internet prototype interconnecting two metro networks with trapped-ion nodes under the QIA’s €47.5 million grant, per the AQT quantum internet page. The QIA Community Event drew nearly 200 participants to Lisbon covering 50 km fiber entanglement and QNodeOS, as covered by the QIA Lisbon event. Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus established a quantum applications hub in Iași, Romania, with Classiq software and an IBM Quantum System Two, according to the Classiq Romania hub.
Not to be overlooked, MIT Bengaluru inaugurated Quantum-Hub@MAHE with a 25-qubit dilution fridge under India’s National Quantum Mission, per the MIT Bengaluru inauguration.
Research That Cuts Energy, Noise, and Compute
Edinburgh researchers developed software that cuts Gaussian boson sampling simulation power to about 5 percent of prior needs, according to the Edinburgh software breakthrough. UChicago PME scientists built a WEST-code framework modeling how spin defects lose energy via internal conversion, from the UChicago quantum defects article. It resolves lifetime discrepancies for NV centers and SiC divacancies. A npj Quantum Information paper introduces nonlinear squeezing to certify genuine continuous quantumness in multi-photon-added coherent states, per the Nature quantumness paper.
Awards, Calibration Speed, and Hybrid Roadmaps
Ignacio Cirac received the IOP Isaac Newton Medal and Lecture 2026 for foundational quantum information work, according to the Munich Quantum Valley Cirac announcement. Riverlane and NVIDIA cut QEC decoder calibration from minutes to 2.8 seconds on H100 GPUs, decoding over 4 million syndromes per second, per the Riverlane NVIDIA blog and the faster decoder news. A podcast with Quantum Source’s Barak Dayan describes a hybrid atom-photon QPU targeting a fault-tolerant logical qubit by 2029, from the Quantum Source podcast.
Finally, Stony Brook’s Hyeongrak Choi led a NORDTECH discussion on integrating solid-state spin qubits with semiconductor photonics, according to the Stony Brook NordTech article.
Bottom Line
Today’s mix of a $2 billion raise, chip-scale cryo parts, PQC silicon demos, and European quantum-internet prototypes shows the industry is moving from laboratory milestones to capital, components, and real applications at the same time.
