UbiQD Secures $200,000 New Mexico Award for Single-Photon Source
UbiQD received a $200,000 New Mexico Quantum Technologies Award on October 28, 2026 to prototype a fiber-coupled single-photon light source. The Los Alamos company will use its cadmium-free quantum dots for room-temperature operation aimed at quantum computing and secure quantum networks. The grant also supports expansion of its 40-plus granted patent portfolio covering materials through end-use applications.
