Israel Issues Project Nexus Tender to Establish National Quantum Computing Platform

Israel’s National AI Directorate and Finance Ministry have launched Project Nexus, a tender to establish a national “Blue and White” quantum computing platform as an early implementation step of the country’s national AI strategy. The platform is intended to support the diverse quantum technologies existing in Israel while aiming to ensure a domestically produced system. Parallel Requests for Information address a national Physical AI simulation and real-world testing environment and pathways to sovereignty in foundational AI models. The moves follow Government Decision 4255 and come alongside a separate Israel Innovation Authority NIS 100 million multi-technology quantum R&D infrastructure call.

IonQ Advances Quantum Co-Design with Sandia and Launches Tennessee Quantum Communications Center with EPB

IonQ has signed an MOU with Sandia National Laboratories to accelerate quantum co-design for national security applications at the Quantum Demonstration Facility while simultaneously launching the Tennessee Quantum Communications Research Center with EPB. The latter is funded by a five-year $15 million (€13.0 million) commitment and will house the first commercial Quantum Memory on a live fiber network. The initiatives expand IonQ’s New Mexico national-laboratory presence and deepen its Chattanooga commercial networking footprint. Both build on prior technical collaborations in ion-trap fabrication and the existing EPB Quantum Center.
