SEALSQ Corp and Palm Technologies announced a strategic partnership on August 18, 2026, to integrate SEALSQ’s QS7001 Quantum Shield hardware-security technology into Palm Technologies’ existing and future PalmPay biometric-authentication products for India’s digital payment, public transport, and connected infrastructure markets. SEALSQ will supply the QS7001 technology and technical support for secure-element integration, while Palm Technologies will lead product architecture, biometric-system design, application development, firmware, system integration, local product development, and deployment.
QS7001 Hardware Security Integration
The Quantum Shield QS7001 is a next-generation hardware security microcontroller unit designed to protect connected systems against current and emerging cyber threats. It is optimized for post-quantum cryptographic algorithms including Kyber and Dilithium, providing hardware root of trust, secure key storage, and cryptographic acceleration. The initial collaboration centers on embedding the QS7001 into Palm Technologies’ MetPalm V1 product architecture for metro and toll payment applications.
This design-in approach supports secure authentication, trusted device identity, protected transactions, and long-term system integrity. Each party retains ownership of its pre-existing intellectual property, with no transfer of Palm Technologies’ product designs, architectures, software, firmware, or biometric systems.
Commercial Expansion Across Indian Verticals
The partnership targets high-growth Indian verticals that include payments and merchants, defense communications, transit and fare systems, drones, electric vehicles, and robotics. Palm Technologies plans to extend the same QS7001 design-in approach to its Palm-M merchant payment terminal and across the OrbitQops product line, covering QOPS-R for robotics, QOPS-D for drones and UAVs, QOPS-E for electric vehicles, QOPS-S for satellites, QOPS-N for networks, and QOPS-I for IoT.
By combining SEALSQ’s post-quantum semiconductor expertise with Palm Technologies’ local product development, biometric authentication, and system-level integration capabilities, the companies say the collaboration is designed to help customers move faster from evaluation to production. SEALSQ positions the QS7001 for long-lifecycle connected and embedded applications, while Palm Technologies, based in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, emphasizes India-focused, quantum-resistant engineering for the domestic market.
