Infleqtion, Aliro, Tensora, and Bandelier Technologies Sign On to ABQ-Net First Open-Access Quantum Network in the U.S.

On July 28, 2026, Infleqtion, Aliro Technologies, Tensora, and Bandelier Technologies committed to using ABQ-Net, the first open-access entanglement-based quantum network in the United States. Developed by Qunnect with Roadrunner Venture Studios and supported by New Mexico’s Technology and Innovation Office, the network forms part of the state’s over $450 million quantum investment. Companies will test timing synchronization, secure key generation, geosensing, and defense applications over existing fiber. Anchor nodes connect Qunnect’s Albuquerque office with the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies operated by Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.

Photon Queue Wins $500,000 Grant to Establish Quantum Technology Presence in New Mexico

Photon Queue has secured a $500,000 grant to build operations in New Mexico. The University of Illinois spinout develops free-space quantum memories that store photonic qubits without cryogenics. The funding supports hiring, collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories, and integration into the state’s growing quantum hardware cluster.

Central New Mexico Community College Demonstrates Quantum Technician Training Model at National Workshop

Central New Mexico Community College hosted a Quantum Educators Workshop in early June 2026, introducing its Quantum Technician Bootcamp to 45 faculty members from across the United States. The 10-week program requires no math or science prerequisites and has already led to graduates being hired by quantum companies in the Albuquerque area at salaries around $80,000. Developed in partnership with Sandia National Laboratories, the bootcamp is part of the Elevate Quantum Tech Hub’s workforce efforts covering New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. Workshop participants explored hands-on curriculum in areas like quantum information systems, Qiskit, quantum key distribution, and atomic quantum systems to adapt for their own institutions. By sharing this replicable model, CNM is helping to build a broader talent pipeline for the growing commercial quantum industry.
