IBM Demonstrates Verified Quantum Results That Challenge Classical Methods

IBM and partners from the University of Chicago, Qedma, and Algorithmiq announced three demonstrations of verified quantum results on July 30, 2026. Using Heron processors, the teams executed encoded circuits with up to 70 logical qubits, 74-qubit Floquet dynamics with QESEM mitigation, and heterogeneous matter simulations. Classical methods showed diverging or inconclusive results at the scales reached. Validation frameworks and open release to the Quantum Advantage Tracker enable continued community scrutiny of the claims.

Israel Innovation Authority Allocates $32.9M for National Quantum Computing R&D Infrastructure

The Israel Innovation Authority has issued a NIS 100 million (€28.8 million / $32.9 million USD) call for proposals to build a national quantum computing R&D infrastructure. The facility must integrate at least three different quantum processing technologies and begin delivering services within 12 months. It will serve as Israel’s central hub for technology evaluation, benchmarking, algorithm development, and application testing. Leading Israeli companies across control, software, error mitigation, and hardware layers are positioned to engage with the new resource.
