SAXON Q Opens Orders for 128-Qubit and 512-Qubit Room-Temperature NV-Center Quantum Computers

SAXON Q has opened commercial orders for its SXQ128 and SXQ512 quantum computers, listed with aggregate qubit counts of 128 and 512. The company describes the systems as the first diamond-based NV-center machines to exceed 10 qubits. They operate at room temperature and eliminate cryogenic infrastructure while relying on standard photonics and control hardware. A proprietary multi-core operating system coordinates locally entangled qubits within each core (eight on the SXQ128, 16 on the SXQ512). The SXQ128 is available for delivery within three months; the SXQ512 begins deliveries in Q2 2027.

Eaton Wins $7 Million AFRL Contract to Apply Quantum Computing to Grid Security

Eaton has been awarded a $7 million (€6.1 million), 24-month contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to apply quantum computing, machine learning, and visualization to power grid resilience. Working with Infleqtion and Pennsylvania State University, the project develops quantum-enabled algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical methods for detecting concurrent physical and cyber threats. The effort explores scenarios beyond traditional N-1 contingency planning and will culminate in a proof-of-concept demonstration on available quantum hardware.
